Friends, Seoul (January 2022)

Friends are precious and priceless.

Among many college friends, I ended up meeting up three of them regularly once a month for four months. They are PyungKu Lee, Kwangsoo Song, and Chanjung Park. Song and Lee were in the financial services industry, and Chanjung was in education. But, it is always joyous to see them and chat about various issues.

Jongchoon Park is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of a banking group, JB Financial Group. He is also serving as Senior Vice President of two subsidiary banks. He used to work for Shinhan Bank and we met each other when he visited New York while I was running Shinhan Bank America as CEO. He studied Islamic Finance for his master's degree in Malaysia and also a Ph D in Islamic Finance at Myungji University. His heart is to serve His Kingdom more intensively. We are exploring the possibility of serving the Lord together. In His time. Lord willing.

Joseph Choi is an ordained pastor and was a missionary to Tanzania and Thailand. He was quite well known in the Korean mission field while he was serving in Tanzania. He is now pastoring an international church in Seoul and we once traveled together to Sri Lanka in February 2020, where he is also running a ministry. We met over lunch and talked about several issues for our remaining life.  I look forward to witnessing what the Lord has in store for him. He was the first person whom I met in 2022.

Lord, as we begin the New Year, may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. - Jeffrey
