SfK held its second BAM Field Trip in October 2023. The first country to visit was Vietnam. Starting from Hanoi, we later visited Danang and Hochimin City. This blog post will cover Hanoi.
I went to Hanoi from Chiang Mai, Thailand a day earlier than our scheduled arrival date to meet up with Caleb Yoo's family. Unfortunately, I still tested COVID-19 positive and I had to be careful with my interaction with them The couple has two daughters, and both of them were cute and pretty.
From the following day, we started meeting with businesses and provided onsite coaching.
TG Food was run to serve the orphans and widows. Her story was inspirational. We had dinner at this fine restaurant where they serve healthy food and Japanese Natto.
The second business we visited was
Friends Coffee Roasters. They not only sell coffee but also teach people to roast coffee better. It is a long-term investment in Vietnam.
In between business visits, we also visited
Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. It exhibits cultures of 54 ehtnic groups that comprise Vietnam.
The third business we visited was
Vonado Bakery Cafe. Their story was heart-warming and their pastry was delicious.
The fourth business we visited was HyeSeung Accounting which provides accounting services for CPA firms in the U.S. Concurrently, there was another meeting taking place in a different room about Consulting.
Another business we visited was
Noel Academy which provides after-school education for elementary and secondary school students.
The last business we visited was
the Korea-Vietnam Dream Center. It is run as a non-profit in cooperation with other businesses and ministries, to serve the families of Korean-Vietnamese mixed families.
We had a tight schedule in Hanoi, but we all felt grateful for what God is doing through these businesses. We looked forward to the remaining trip and also to what fruits our trips will bear. - Jeffrey
