Mexico City (II) - Museo Nacional de Antropologia, Mexico (December 2023)

Bosque de Chapultepec has several museums and the most popular and famous one is the National Museum of Anthropology. I explored this museum and learned a lot about Mexico's regional ethnic background and their cultures.

Do you recognize this emblem?

Mexico's ethnicity totals 68 people groups, but they categorized them into six regions: North, West, Central, Gulf, South, and East. The museum was exhibiting these six cultures in different rooms. The Central region is the Mexica or Aztec culture. Mexico means the place of Mexica. The South region represents the Oaxaquenas and Mixtecas. The East region covers the Mayans. The West covers the Jalisco, Sinaloa, and Michoacan states. I did not spend enough time to learn in detail, but paid more attention to Mexica (Azteca), Mayan, and Oaxacan cultures.

Mexico's rich history and diverse cultures were quite interesting, prompting me to learn more about them. - Jeffrey
