While we were staying in Sofia Bulgaria, we made out to visit two UN Heritage Sites. The first one was Boyana Church. It is a small medieval orthodox church, but you can find many old and precious frescoes preserved from 1259. We were not allowed to take photos inside, but you can easily find many photos on Google one of which I borrowed from it.
The second UN cultural heritage site was Rila Monastery located 117 km away from Sofia. Its formal name is The Monastery of St John of Rila also known as Rila Monastery "Sveti Ivan Rilski." Its architectural beauty and the surroundings were marvelous.
