After Belgrade, our next destination was Novi Sad, the second largest city in Serbia with a population of approximately 400 thousands, pretty close to Nish. Novi Sad is located in the northern part of Serbia, north of Belgrade and close to Croatia. Its history is complicated with many nations, regions, kingdoms, empires occupied this city. Most recently, the Austro-Hungarian Empire occupied the city and left a heavy influence in this flat land. Novi Sad's most outstanding landmark is its fortress with a clock tower. Ascending to the clock towner was a challenge but the panoramic view was spectacular.
