Cape Town, South Africa (March 2026)

After we finished our visit to Rehoboth in Kruger, we headed to Johannesburg and continued to fly to Cape Town, the legislative capital of South Africa. South Africa has three capitals: administrative, legislative, and judicial. Pretoria is the administrative capital, while Bloemfontein is the judicial capital. I had been to Cape Town many times due mainly to CEO conferences when I was working in Rwanda. But I missed the opportunity to climb up to Table Mountain twice due to bad weather. This time, I was able to. Three is a charm.

Table Mountain was on my agenda, but the primary purpose of coming to Cape Town was to visit Le Bac, another Foundations for Farming site that started only 7 months ago. It was visibly impressive to see the growing crops in such a short time frame.

We had a nice meal at this restaurant and spent time by the campfire, reflecting on God's blessings upon our lives through the trip. We prayed for each other as we shared prayer requests.

The following day was a tour day in Cape Town. We spent time in the V & A Waterfront, South Africa's premier shopping district with 450 retail outlets. I was hanging out with a couple, Steve and Rebecca, from the Midwest. They were very pleasant.

We had a lunch break at a beachside town, near the station for the cable car to Table Mountain. It was quite nice to walk along the beach after lunch.

Table Mountain is listed on the New 7 Wonders of the World, along with Jeju Island in Korea. The cable car ride was smooth, and the floor in the cable car was rotating so that people could have a panoramic view of the outside. We walked on a hiking trail at the top and enjoyed the sea and town views immensely. The weather was perfect!

The Table Mountain top was really flat.

Overall, my trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe was very fruitful despite the painful incident that I had to go through. God is good all the time. Thank you, Lord! - Jeffrey
