Oaxaca (III) - Artisan Workshops, Mexico (January 2024)

We signed up to visit a few artisan places. One of them was El Tono de Cochinilla. It was a workshop where Zapotec Weavers were producing their traditional textiles with natural dying materials.

The second workshop we visited was Alfareria Dona Rosa. This workshop produces black clay products. The potter was demonstrating their pottery-making process.

During our trip, we had lunch at a buffet restaurant. The foods included several kinds of Oaxacan moles with vegetables and meats. The food was good.

We also visited a wooden workshop where such products were manually made. We were not allowed to take the photos and we were told only after we took some photos.

The quality of their artwork did not seem impressive, but they were surely colorful and uniquely traditional. - Jeffrey
