Air Benhaddou, Morocco - Ait Benhhadou (February 2024)

On the way to Marrakesh, we made a stop at Ait Benhaddou. It is a historic ighrem or ksah along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakesh in Morocco. It is considered a great example of Moroccan earthen clay architecture and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

After we crossed the bridge we started climbing the mountain through the alleys. It was a short hike, but the slope was quite steep.

We were able to see the inside of a residence inside the compound.

Many merchants displayed their products, such as carpets, on the walls. What if it rains?

This ruin was at the top of the mountain.

Ladies only in the photo...

Next, men only...

But, it is far better with all together.

This artist was proud to have Hilary Clinton as his client. She bought an art when she visited this site some years ago..

I would like to share a couple of additional Moroccan images. One is the eyes of a lady. The beauty, the resolve, the vision, the hope... I could see all in this photo.

Another image is of these white-clothed men riding horses and holding up their rifles. The brevity, the determination, the power, and the victory are included in this image.

Now we were heading to go to Marrakesh, one of the highlights of this tour. - Jeffrey
