Trip to Montecatini, Tuscany, Italy (July 2017)

Montecatini is a small town that is famous for hot springs and thermal bath. Its full name is Montecatini Terme. It is a spa town. But we did not get to experience the spa.

Also, it is an affordable lodging town of 20,000 inhabitants for nearby Florence and other cities.

We did not have time to explore the town, but some who did said the town plaza area was quite nice.

We instead explored the funicular or Finicolare in Italian. It connects to a town up in the mountain that has restaurants and cafes. The funicular runs until the mid night to accommodate people who use the amenities up in the mountain.

The hill town up there had a church, a plaza, many restaurants and residential houses.

The sunset was gorgeous and the buildings that were glowing at the sunset.

We were glad that we finished up the exploring far before others got on the funicular. As we were getting off the funicular, people were getting on it. We heard that they had to wait quite a bit for their foods. - Jeffrey
