Matsushima Bay, Tohoku, Japan (February 2025)

The following day, we checked out of the hotel and stored our luggage at the coined lockers at the Sendai Station. And we took a JR train to go to Matsushima Bay, one of Japan's Three Views.

We visited a small island where the view was beautiful.

We walked around the streets to experience local seafood. They looked good and tasted delicious.

There was a museum of Masamune, a Lord who ruled the region under Toyotomi Hideyoshi. He had a choice to make between Hideyoshi of Kansai and Tokugawa Ieyas of Kanto. He is a respected Samurai and Lord in this area.

We walked to the port and took a boat ride to see the beautiful islands spread in the bay. It was the primary reason for the trip we made. It reminded us of Halong Bay in Vietnam and the Mountains along the Yi River, but the scale of Matsushima Bay was far smaller than either of them.

After we visited Matsushima Bay, we took a JR train to return to Sendai and to take a Shinkansen train to go to Tokyo. - Jeffrey
