After we visited Apollonia Archaeological Park, we arrived at Berat. It was a pleasant surprise. We did not know what to expect from this city, but the architecture was quite unique and the snow-capped mountain in the backdrop was almost mysterious. I found the city very charming and beautiful.
The night we arrived, we had dinner at a local winery, called Pupa. Again, the winery was very clean, well organized, and the food they served was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Pupa Winery.
The hotel we stayed looked like a big house with a beautiful architecture. Most of the houses and hotels looked like this. How impressive!
We climbed up to Berat Castle on the cliff. From down in the city, the castle looked rather small. But, when we went up there, there was a whole village with many houses and a church as well. Its size was also a surprise.
Even the town was so clean and well organized, we found it quite enjoyable to walk around the town. The houses on the hill towards the castle were of unique architecture. We took a lot of photos. The river flowing through the city was also beautiful with the snow-capped mountain in the background.
