The highlight of Alaska Cruise is seeing Hubbard Glacier. It is the largest tidewater glacier in North America. Also, it is one of the very few glaciers in the world that is advancing rather than retreating. I was wondering how close the cruise ship would go to the glacier. To my surprise, it approached the glacier very close and circled around so that people could see the glacier from both sides. We saw major glaciers in Patagonia, but it was a new experience to see the glacier from the ship. It was amazing!
As we were leaving the glacier behind, I felt relieved because I would now be able to cross one off my bucket list.
We tried to keep walking on the running track on the deck every day and after every meal. Walking after a meal is a good habit.
Every dinner time was the time to take care of Avery. In general, he is very quiet, but he could get really cranky. Once he is cranky, no one else can calm him down except his parents.
After we disembarked at Seward, Alaska, we took a bus to Anchorage International Airport. We booked the bus that stops at the Alaska Sea Life Center. It was fun to see sea animals in different forms. I liked starfish species in particular.
Our Alaska Cruise ended pretty fast in the blink of an eye, but it was fun and meaningful because we did it with Joyce's family. I wished Amanda's family were also with us. - Jeffrey
