Mazatlan, Mexico - Yacht Ride (December 2024)

As part of our membership purchase, El Cid Vacation Club offered several perks one of which was riding a yacht. We took this yacht ride with Charlene and Chester. We spent four hours at sea enjoying the scenery and the sea breeze.  Captain Elias and his assistant Joshua were pleasant and worked hard to make our trip pleasant and memorable.

El Cid Marina is not directly part of the Mazatlan Marina but was pretty close to it.

Joshua tried to catch something, but he had no luck. I just pretended to do fishing.

We passed by a few rocks where sea birds covered them with their poops to look white.

The yacht entered the bay where we found hundreds of fishing boats, primarily for shrimp fishing. No wonder Mazatlan is called the shrimp capital of Mexico.

Also in the bay, we spotted a small ferry that transports people from Mazatlan to Stone Island where the beaches are quieter and nicer.

We went to the back side of El Faro, the lighthouse, and found some interesting rock formations and sea lions enjoying the sun without human disruptions.

I used to be easily sea-sick, but I managed to finish the yacht ride without one, still smiling to take a selfie.

Well, Captain Elias let me hold the steering wheel with his cap on to pose for a picture.

Two ladies outshined the sun although they were in the shade.

A catamaran was also heading out when we were heading out of the marina.

Around the El Cid property, there were a lot of pelicans. They knew what types of boats may provide some fish if they chase them. None followed us, but several of them followed a fishing boat.

This four-hour yacht ride was a luxurious experience for us. We might rent one of these when we have our family gathering next year during the Thanksgiving week. - Jeffrey
