Mazatlan, Mexico - El Cid Vacation Clubs (December 2024)

Kristin and I went to Mazatlan, Mexico after our annual family gathering in Pagosa Springs, Colorado during the Thanksgiving week. We bought a trial membership at El Cid Vacation Clubs and we made a three-week booking to stay at El Cid Granada.

As a condition for the trial membership, we had to attend another sales presentation and in conclusion, we ended up buying 400,000 points for the next 20 years. There were several benefits attached to this purchase and I felt like it was a good purchase for the rest of our active life. El Cid moved our accommodation immediately to El Cid Marina with an All-Inclusive for two weeks.

It was our first All-Inclusive experience and the timing was right for us because Kristin's pain problem limited her ability to cook severely. We were able to indulge ourselves at any of the nine restaurants that El Cid operates at four resort hotels.

While we were in Mazatlan, Kristin's friend Charlene and her husband Chester came to Mazatlan. It was their first time trip to Mexico. After they attended the presentation, they also bought a membership with El Cid Vacation Club. As a result, we have become vacation companions.

El Moro has a beach-side restaurant called La Concha and we enjoyed sitting outside enjoying the beach and the sea while eating the meals.

At El Cid Granada, we ate a few times at El Patio and we particularly enjoyed the Argentine Cuisine dinner. In the morning, iguanas were frequently spotted, waiting for the guests to share their food with them, like this one.

We tried several restaurants at El Cid properties and we liked a Thai restaurant, called Thai Bahn. We ate there twice and their presentation was quite beautiful.

After a few days at Granada, we were moved to El Cid Marina. It is a newer, quieter, and better facility. We could see the marina from our room, for example.

El Cid Marina had two restaurants, and we liked La Marina. It was just almost heavenly to sit by the window and enjoy the delicious breakfast, particularly vegetable omelets.

At La Marina, a few musicians played music even during breakfast time. In the evening, an organist played old music.

At El Cid Marina, there are two swimming pools. The climate was always nice and pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed hanging out by the poolside as well as playing in the water.

As we get old, we should watch our glucose level and cut back on eating desserts, but they were too good to pass.

From El Cid El Moro, we could watch the sunset. The sea horizon was without any clouds and the sunset was gorgeous.

It was never planned, but we ended up joining El Cid Vacation Clubs and Mazatlan has now become our getaway place for the winter time. We might as well enjoy the Pearl of the Pacific fully. - Jeffrey
