After we moved to Greer, SC, time has gone fast.
We traveled to New York to clean up and close the storage we kept for the bloody 12 years. Yikes!
We took a short and sweet day trip to Ashville, NC.
But, mostly we spent time in Greer or Greenville County. The most significant series of things we did were visiting various doctors. I saw eight doctors in six months. But, I was able to get comfortable with a little something on my esophagus. This 21mmx15mm stuff seems benign and is not growing. But, I have had radiating pain that is derived from lumbar spinal stenosis. Chiropractic treatments I received 24 times were helpful to correcting my spinal posture.
We settled to worship and fellowship at a Korean church, called Korean Grace Church of Greenville. There are only 30-40 people in the congregation, including 15 or so students studying at Bob Jones University. So the adult congregation is really small. We met Dr. Yoo couple over lunch twice. Mrs. Yoo does not have faith yet, and we are praying for God's mercy so that she may come to believe in Jesus.
Soncha King is a divorced lady, who invited us and the pastor couple to lunch one day. She seems lonely and seems to require some caring.
I met David, a long-time minister with CRU.org in eastern Europe. He and his wife are now preparing to serve in Liverpool alongside Shapoor, an Iranian refugee ministering to his fellow refugees from Iran and also to three churches in Turkey.
David introduced me to Angel originally from Rwanda who is now living in Spartanburg only 15 km away from Greer and engaged in the trucking business. He went through a tough life after he escaped the genocide in 1994. He was a child soldier in DR Congo, moved to Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Central African Republic, and Botswana. He and his wife came to the U.S. as refugees from Botswana. I am not sure what is in store for this new relationship, but I am willing to obey what the Lord has in mind. - Jeffrey
