Kuala Lumpur and Penang, Malaysia (August 2018)...

I got on a "K-Tour" to four cities all of whose names start with "K" located in four different countries in Asia. The first stop was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur

The primary purpose of this visit to the capital city of Malaysia was to spend time with Earth Heir. Earth Heir is a company that promotes Malaysia's heritage craftsmanship under the brand of Earth Heir. It seeks the Kingdom interest in the Muslim-dominant society. Besides, the company seeks eco-friendly products, as the company name indicates. Their products are of high quality and should be selling well at reasonable prices. Earth Heir works with people with disabilities and also refugees, creating significant transformation impact in the lives of people it serves.

For the past few years of operations, it has gained tremendous publicity from Malaysian government, private companies, international development organizations. The company has not been able to fully translate this publicity into soaring sales, but has been laying the solid foundation for the future growth.

While I was there, Sasi was explaining to young artisans to encourage them to keep the precious Malaysian heritage.

Apparently, two key personnel, Sasi, CEO and Founder, and Xiao Cheng, COO, both were pretty close to the burnout and were at the brink of dropping the ball. It was joyous to hear that they were encouraged by our dialogue and also by God's calling in business.

Xiao Cheng and Sasi

I spent two days with both ladies and our gatherings were mutually uplifting. We will continue our dialogue to discuss more how we may be able to work together. They have signed up to be part of SfK Missional Business Community. Lord, Your will be done!

Penang

I took advantage of being in Kuala Lumpur and made an overnight trip to Penang and spent time with Koreans running cafe restaurants in the brand name of "Cottiny." They sell Korean foods and also sell jewelry products. They have been serving for almost 10 years and are now getting ready to open the third store.

Penang is the name of the tree that looks like Dates Palm trees. Penang is an island although ti is now connected to the mainland through a couple of bridges. The weather is tropical so it is hot throughout the year. Air conditioning is a necessity. Housing expenses seem quite reasonable, but the high temperature turned me off.

I shared a message during the morning devotion time.

This business was started by Mr. and Mrs. Moon both used to work for E-Land. It was great joy to hear that Mrs. Moon was deeply encouraged by the message.

I spent time with other former E-Land executives over meals and short excursions.

I prayed that they will continue to stay on track for His Kingdom despite the challenges. - Jeffrey
