Most of the group went on an optional tour to a different town, but we were glad we stayed in town because it was raining the whole day. We enjoyed this little town with a lot of free time. - Jeffrey

Opatija, Croatia (February 2026)
Our next destination was Croatia, and the first city we visited was Opatija. It is a Croatian coastal town on the Adriatic Sea. It was a fashionable resort in the 19th century, dotted with Habsburg-era villas.
Opatija is a Croatian coastal town on the Adriatic Sea. A fashionable resort in the 19th century, it's dotted with Habsburg-era villas.
The Lungomare is a promenade that snakes along the coastline, offering views of the town and neighboring islands. There were many statues along the way.
The 1800s Villa Angiolina, set in a garden of exotic plants, houses the Croatian Museum of Tourism. Parts of St. Jacob's Church nearby date from the 16th century. The contents displayed in the museum, however, were disappointing at best. They should not collect the entry fee.
Wherever we go, the time of eating meals is always the highlight.

Ljubljana, Slovenia (February 2026)
After four nights in Bled, we headed to Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. It was a rainy day, but we walked around the city's major landmarks, including the dragon statue.
We visited this beautiful city twice before, and each time we loved the city. This time, our pleasure was less, probably because of the rain, but we still enjoyed this cute and cozy city. - Jeffrey
Postojna (Postoinska) Cave, Slovenia (February 2026)
While we were staying in Bled, there was an optional tour to visit the Postojna Cave. I could not go because of a prescheduled Zoom call, but all my other friends joined the tour. Here are photos of the cave. This cave is a 24.34 km-long karst cave system in southwestern Slovenia. It is the second-longest cave system in the country and one of its top tourist sites. These caves were created by the Pivka River.
I missed the opportunity, but Kristin visited this place with amazement. - Jeffrey
