After we left La Paz very early on February 6, we arrived at SFO in the evening via Bogota, Colombia, and Houston, Texas. Kyle came to pick us up. We came to the Bay Area to visit with Joyce and Kyle because Joyce gave birth to Myles, their first child, and our third grandchild. It was exciting to see a new grandchild.
Before I went through immigration, I went to see a separate immigration officer to enroll on arrival for Global Entry. Unlike my expectation, there was no waiting line at all. I got almost instantly cleared with the enrollment process. This Global Entry enrollment will be good also for TSA Pre-check on domestic flights and SENTRI for the border crossing on land from Mexico.
We were thrilled to hold Myles for the first time and later whenever possible. He came out into this world through a C-section because Joyce was having fetal distress while she was in labor. Here is the first photo of Myles:

We were joyful with Myles, but his mom's holding looks more natural and lovely. Also, he looks more comfortable in his dad's lab.

But, we got more proficient with holding Myles as time went by with Myles.
While I was there, Kyle's mom Nora came to meet Myles. Kristin prepared a meal for us to share. Myles was her first grandchild, so I am sure her joy was even greater than ours.
Also, Alyson, Joyce's long-time friend from their high school time in Colorado, came to see Myles. It was a great joy to see her after almost 20 years.
As Joyce requested, I gave Myles a Korean name Yejoon, meaning "bright and intellectual." "Myles, now your Korean name is Yejoon!"
One day, we drove down to San Jose to see Kristin's friend and her husband. It was always a great joy to see old friends.
Our visit with Joyce and Kyle was also our first-time visit to their first home located in Alameda California. They purchased the townhome late last year in anticipation of the arrival of Myles. It is approximately 1,720 sq. ft with two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. It is safe within a subdivision and conveniently located close to the shoreline as well as to an elementary school within a walking distance.
Joyce's home is near the shoreline across Oakland. There is a hiking trail by the shoreline and it became our favorite walking trail in the morning and in the afternoon. Some days were warm, but most of the day, it was windy and cold, making us bundle ourselves up.
You could see San Francisco city from the hiking trail and many birds.
