Chiang Mai, Thailand (January 2019)

Almost immediately after Joyce left, I played golf with Elder Kyoung Sub Kwon.

I had a get-together with Young Woong Kwon, currently a missionary to Nepal, who wanted to work under SfK Ministries. It was a great blessing. I later got together again with his family including three daughters: Sarang, Somang and Onyoo. I look forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for our relationship.

On the New Year's Day, we invited Korean Missionary couple: Dong Hwan Ahn and Choon Ho Baik. They serve with Christian counseling. Kristin has been learning from Mr. Ahn. It was wonderful to fellowship with them on the New Year's Day.

Kristin and I were invited to lunch by US Missionaries Gary and Cindy Moon for the rice cake soup or Ddeok Guk. We ended up eating rice cake soup twice. Is it accelerating our aging or decellerating it?

On the New Year's Day, we received another group of visitors from Korea. Kristin's aunt,  her daughter Gloria, Gloria's husband Jason and their daughter Isabel, and Kristin's cousin Joongseok.  Overall, their visit was from January 1 through 9, although Joonseok came on Jan 2 and left on Jan 5.

During their visit, we made short trips in and around Chiang Mai.

Okhaju Organic Food Restaurant is always a great place to dine. Their salads are fresh and delicious without exception. This time, we enjoyed coffee and cakes, which were likewise good.

San Kam Phaeng Hot Springs
There are a few hot springs in San Kam Phaeng. We have been going to Roong Aroong Hot Springs, but this time we went to San Kam Phaeng that carries the city's name. The park area was a lot larger than Roong Aroong and the places where people can dip their feet were a lot longer. Naturally, there were more people.

One of the fun to visit San Kam Phaeng Hot Springs is to boil fresh eggs in the Hot Springs water. Its temperature is 105 degrees Farenheit and it takes 20 minutes for the "well done." We had our lunch in the picnic area.

There was a Thai Massage Center, but their service did not seem that good.

On the way back from the hot springs, we visited Bor Sang Umbrella Making Center. We have been there a few times, but it is always fun to visit this place.

Isable, the daughter of Gloria and Jason, is 6 years old. She looks like my grand daughter but is supposed to be my niece. She is cute and adorable.

They visited Night Safari, one of the attractions that people do not want to miss. We waited outside until they finished their visit.

We drove to Baan Kang Wat, a small place that has gathered pop up shops run by artists and craftsmen. It was a cute place full of interesting products and foods.

There was a small open-air theater where people can perform.

I enjoyed churro with chocolate dipping sauce and hot drip coffee. A perfect match.

This place even had lodges inside the place. How interesting!

This place will definitely be one of the things to do for the visitors. - Jeffrey
